About This Novel

"Journey to the West" was written by Wu Cheng'en, a novelist of the Ming Dynasty. It is based on "Records of the Western Regions of the Tang Dynasty", folklore and Yuan dramas. The Song Dynasty's "The Tripitaka of the Tang Dynasty's Collection of Buddhist Scriptures" (original name "The Tripitaka of the Tang Dynasty's Collection of Buddhist Scriptures") is the earliest prototype of the Journey to the West story in spoken language. Among them, the Tang Monk is based on Master Xuanzang. As one of the four classic Chinese classics and the first romantic novel about gods and demons in ancient China, the book profoundly depicts the social reality at that time and is a pioneering work of magical realism. It first describes the birth of Sun Wukong, and then meets Zhu Bajie, Monk Sha, and Monk Tang. However, it mainly describes the three people Sun Wukong, Zhu Bajie, and Monk Sha protecting Monk Tang as he journeys to the west to obtain Buddhist scriptures. Monk Tang endures eighty-one hardships from reincarnation to Buddhist scriptures, defeats demons along the way, and finally reaches the West to see Tathagata Buddha, and finally the Five Saints come true.

The master and disciple, the Fourth Master, learned a lot of merits and virtues on the difficult journey to the west, and finally achieved positive results. This article is a novel about gods and demons written in classical Chinese, and the images of the four masters and disciples are well written, and it is worth recommending.
