About This Novel
The long reportage "On the Road" takes the development of my country's highways and the great changes in rural areas as the background of the times. It uses a combination of grand narrative and bottom-level narrative to panoramicly record the legendary story of the people and service areas in Tongxiang, Zhejiang. From roadside stalls to finding a way out, from working alone to developing together as a team, from looking for service areas to bravely entering service areas, from building service areas to leading service areas, the road is full of obstacles, courage comes first, and work takes the lead. The people of Tongxiang Service Area manage and operate half of the country's highway service areas, and have built the service area into a "tourist complex" and "cultural complex." The Four Thousand spirit of "traveling thousands of mountains and rivers, speaking thousands of words, thinking of every possible way, and enduring all kinds of hardships", the two-board spirit of "being the boss during the day and sleeping on the floor at night", and the "trendy-setter" spirit of pioneering and daring to be the first are concentratedly reflected in the people in the service area.
