Lifting the Fog: Re-understanding the Study of Zhou Ruchang's "dream of Red Mansions
by Xu Huimin
About This Novel
Professor Xu Huimin's "Clearing the Fog - Re-understanding of the Study of Zhou Ruchang's "Dream of Red Mansions"", Yang Qiqiao's "Errors in Research on Zhou Ruchang's Dream of Red Mansions", and Shen Zhijun's "Seven Cases of Red Mansions" are the three most important works in recent years criticizing the fallacies of Zhou Ruchang's Red Mansions. Based on the text, this book provides a detailed and powerful analysis and criticism of Zhou Ruchang's above main erroneous views by presenting facts and reasoning. Zhou Ruchang's "The Revised and Reviewed Edition of Stone Notes" published by Zhou Ruchang in his later years is claimed to be the most recently revised version. However, this book uses a large number of examples to analyze in detail how Zhou Ruchang made random changes to Cao Xueqin's original text, pretended to understand, and destroyed the organic structure of "Dream of Red Mansions". In fact, it is the most distant and worst version of Cao Xueqin's original text. This book also provides an in-depth analysis and criticism of Zhou Ruchang's methodology and subjective idealism.

We cannot accept Zhou's theory that Bao and Dai are not lovers.
Use a dialectical approach when commenting
Any comment will inevitably be biased if it cannot be viewed from a dialectical perspective and cannot overcome the influence of one's own emotions. Although Zhou Ruchang's research on redness has flaws, it is by no means without merit. His efforts and contributions are unparalleled by few. However, his conceit, subjectivity, paranoia, and imprecision in argumentation are the main reasons for his shortcomings.
"Whoever hides the lonely and proud people in the world, it is too late for the flowers to bloom."
"The sky is unruly and the earth is unruly, my heart is neither happy nor sad, However, after practicing his psychic skills, he began to look for right and wrong in the human world. "
"Ten thousand taels of gold are easy to come by, but a close friend is hard to find."
"Powder stains and fat stains pollute the treasure's light, and the feathers trap the mandarin ducks day and night. You must wake up from this deep dream, and let your sins be paid off and let go! "
