About This Novel
It tells the story of a Chinese girl named Zhou Min growing up in the traditional Chinese restaurant "Long Ting" in Chinatown, New York. As the only daughter of a restaurateur, she is caught between the older generation of immigrants' obsession with "authentic taste" and her own desire for innovative fusion. When his father suffered a heart attack and was hospitalized, Zhou Min was forced to run a restaurant on his own, and unexpectedly found that his fusion of Chinese and Western dishes was popular among young customers.
