The Hungry Artist (complete German Translations of Kafka's Short and Medium Stories)
by Franz Kafka
About This Novel
This book is one of the six volumes of "Designer Joint Book Series·K Classic". "Ein Hungerkünstler" (Ein Hungerkünstler) is Kafka's last collected work during his lifetime and contains a total of four stories. Kafka's health was deteriorating at the time and he was in and out of sanatorium several times. This collection of works was proofread on his sickbed and was finally published in August 1924, two months after Kafka's death. The short story "The Hunger Artist" included in the collection describes the story of a performer who was obsessed with the art of hunger, from his highlight moment to being forgotten by the world, feeling depressed because he was not understood, and finally died. In addition, this book also includes ten short works that Kafka published in newspapers and periodicals during his lifetime but were not collected and published.
