Navy ships are usually divided into combat ships, landing combat ships and service ships. Combat ships are ships equipped with special weapons and directly engaged in naval combat, including surface combat ships and submarines. Surface combat ships perform surface combat missions. According to their different basic tasks, they are divided into different ship types, including aircraft carriers, battleships, cruisers, destroyers, frigates, torpedo boats, missile boats, submarine hunters, minelayers, mine countermeasures ships and landing ships.
