by Linda
About This Novel
Through a series of stories before and after the Constitutional Convention in Philadelphia in 1787, this article sorts out the basic process of the development of the American constitutional democratic system from its source to its relative maturity, as well as its implementation. Following the process of the Constitutional Convention, the author narrates step by step and introduces his thoughts on the ideological soil, historical opportunities, and basic concepts of the system design in the U. S. Constitution. He describes the political wisdom that early American thinkers and politicians showed in confrontation and compromise by following the rules of the game when facing various ideological viewpoints. He also analyzes the worrying issues and historical limitations of the U. S. Constitutional system. Secondly, during the anti-Vietnam War movement in the United States in the 1960s, the New York Times, the Washington Post and other media outlets relied on their constitutional power to compete with the then-U. S. Government administration in the disclosure of the so-called "Secret Pentagon Documents." This highlighted the operating mechanism of American democracy and also touched upon the plight of the system in new crises.
