This book has 800,000 words. The first half discusses European scholars' understanding and debate on the Xiongnu race and history; the second half outlines the history of the Xiongnu in the Mongolian Plateau and the Western Regions based on Chinese historical books such as Shi Ji Han Shu and Hou Han Shu; the last small part focuses on the Western Regions. Based on the previous historical knowledge of some northern ethnic groups and the Western Regions, as well as preliminary reading and understanding of historical records and ministers, it seems that it is not too tiring. After reading it, I have a more solid understanding of the barbarians in the northern and western regions in Chinese history! Comrades with a certain foundation, it is worth reading. The author is a famous professor and university president.
