by Jiang Tingfu
About This Novel
Since the Opium War in 1840, China has entered a period of profound changes unseen in three thousand years. In 1937, the Second Sino-Japanese War began, and the Chinese nation was tempered by the flames of war and ushered in a new life. Over the past hundred years, the Chinese nation has stumbled forward from the "old empire" in the "medieval" state, and gradually transformed into a "modern nation-state." This difficult and tortuous process is recorded in Mr. Jiang Tingfu's "Modern History of China: 1840-1937". This book is divided into two parts. The first part is "Modern History of China", which briefly and profoundly describes the process of the Chinese nation "out of the Middle Ages" in more than 60,000 words. With his strong comprehensive ability, Mr. Jiang Tingfu has abandoned the tedious research and accumulation of historical materials, and sorted out a clear context of the development of modern China for readers. The discussion is vivid, the views are profound, and it is easy to read and durable...

How can Westerners be Koreans and Ryukyuan people?
It is the territory of the "Ryukyu Kingdom" occupied by Japan, consisting of more than 140 large and small islands, centered on the Okinawa Islands, Miyako Islands, and Yaeyama Islands. Currently, only 40 islands are inhabited, with a total population of about 1.2 Million. The original "Ryukyu Kingdom", or the "Ryukyu Arc" and "Ryukyu Cultural Circle" in geographical concepts, was far larger than the current Okinawa. Moreover, the "Ryukyu Islands" are scattered over 1,000 kilometers of sea from south to north, covering an area even larger than Japan's Honshu. From Yonaguni Island, the westernmost island of Okinawa, Taiwan can be seen on a clear day. The southernmost island, Hateruma Island, has a latitude further south than Taipei. Everyone knows that Ryukyu was Taiwan at that time, which has always been part of China, and that Goryeo was from North Korea, so why did it become part of the Western Hemisphere?
A great way to learn about modern Chinese history.
It's still ok
History should be remembered

Your books are really a bit... Some are free and only have a few chapters, so they are just deceiving people.
It is enough for this kind of government to persist for so long.
The Beiyang Navy can't even afford the 4 million taels a year in military expenditures. The Shimonoseki Treaty only compensated 200 million taels in one fell swoop. It's really a small gain but a big loss. These die-hards
