About This Novel
May 3, 2023 I had a girlfriend when I was in college. I called her Xiaomei. Three days ago, I saw her body in a street park. It wasn't me who found her body, it was a group of schoolchildren who were horrified. I informed Xiaomei's husband and he was also frightened. The entire community was in panic. Xiaomei was already the sixth police officer to die in the past three months. I used to be a police officer, but I resigned eight years ago. Xiaomei was my supervisor when I was a police officer. I also went to her wedding ceremony. A group of our old classmates were very drunk that day and behaved in ugly ways. I was deeply impressed, but within a few days, I had to attend her funeral again.
