About This Novel

This book uses the correspondence of several scribes in the Tongxiang area in the Qing Dynasty as a clue to sort out and display the life trajectories of these scribes in more detail, and conducts some research on their lives, from which we can get a glimpse of the life style of the scribes in Jiangsu and Zhejiang during the Qing Dynasty. The book is divided into two parts. One is the display and translation of the original letters. The authors of the letters are all Jinshi scholars with profound cultural attainments. Each of the letters is a masterpiece of calligraphy and covers a wide range of contents. They are all published for the first time and have high artistic and historical value. The second is a chronology, which mainly sorts out the life trajectory of the Chen Wanquan brothers by referring to relevant materials, which involves many characters and poems.
