About This Novel

This book is one of the "History of the Dongjiang Column Series". The book is divided into three parts. The first part narrates the deeds and contributions of the Dongzong Column when it was renamed the "Guangdong and Guangxi Columns" during the Liberation War; the second part includes reminiscence articles and relevant historical documents of veterans of the Dongjiang Column; and the third part includes relevant historical photos. After the end of the Anti-Japanese War, the Dongjiang Column withdrew north to Shandong. Later, under the instructions of the Party Central Committee, it developed into the Guangdong and Guangxi Columns. It participated in important battles of the Liberation War such as the Huaihai Campaign, and followed the Four Fields southward to liberate Guangdong. This book not only introduces and evaluates the historical achievements of the Eastern Zong in the War of Liberation, but also collects the reminiscences of many veterans of the Eastern Zong. On the one hand, its value lies in preserving history, and on the other hand, it lies in carrying forward and continuing the spirit of Dongzong. The memory articles included in it are particularly valuable. The whole book has about 300,000 words.
