This book is an oral history of Zhoukoudian. Edited by Dong Cuiping, Director of Zhoukoudian Museum. The author interviewed more than 20 experts, scholars and related staff who have conducted archaeological excavations at the Zhoukoudian site or worked at the Zhoukoudian Museum, and recorded their memories in writing. These reminiscences may have memory biases or even contradict each other, but they all reflect from different perspectives an aspect of the excavation of the Zhoukoudian site from the 1950s and 1960s until the present, as well as the research and exhibition on Zhoukoudian's history, geography, and culture. They are rare first-hand materials for studying the history of Zhoukoudian.
