On the occasion of the 150th anniversary of the birth of Dr. Sun Yat-sen, the History and Sun Yat-sen Institute of the Guangdong Academy of Social Sciences selected articles written by our institute and its colleagues and compiled them into a collection of essays. The study of Sun Yat-sen has always been a strong subject of the institute. A number of famous experts including Li Shiyue, Zhang Lei, Huang Yan and Liu Wangling have emerged and published many monographs. This collection of essays reveals and studies many aspects of Dr. Sun Yat-sen; it also has special articles on other historical figures in the late Qing Dynasty and the early Republic of China, such as Yuan Shikai and Lu Zhengxiang. The articles are all sound and insightful, and worth reading.
