About This Novel
This manuscript is a compilation and display of the archaeological excavation results of the Jiangjin Shifo Temple site by the Chongqing Institute of Cultural Relics and Archeology. The Jiangjin Stone Buddha Temple Site is the most complete grotto temple site revealed by archaeological excavations in the Sichuan and Chongqing region. It is a representative religious settlement site in the Sichuan and Chongqing region. It makes up for the shortcomings of previous research on grotto temples in the Sichuan and Chongqing region that there were caves but no temples. In terms of content, the manuscript collects archaeological results such as architectural remains, stone carvings, stele inscriptions, monks and laymen's tombs, etc., With 199 selected photos, 98 line drawings, and 29 rubbings. It overall reflects the most important material and cultural aspects of the site in various periods and stages, and embodies the historical, scientific and artistic value of the site.
