About This Novel
In the early 1950s, Lin Fanqing, a son of a wealthy businessman, left the beautiful south of the Yangtze River and headed to the northwest in order to inherit his mentor's unfinished business. Her lover Xu Jingzhi decided to leave with him for the sake of love, but unexpectedly encountered family obstruction and missed the train to the west. Lin Fanqing thought that his lover had changed his mind and embarked on the road to the West District alone. With the help of her classmates, Xu Jingzhi got rid of her shackles and squeezed into the team participating in the construction of the western region. She has only one purpose - to pursue her lover Lin Fanqing. On the vast grassland, a group of young intellectuals, together with local cadres and the masses, used their youth and sweat to write the years of building the Northwest. Their lives and emotions interpreted the legend of half a century.
