Spicy Japanese History: Meiji Story
by Chen Wei
About This Novel
"Learning from history can tell us the rise and fall" - Why are the places where the Japanese military flag was not planted back then occupied by Japanese products today? How has Japan changed over the past 100 years? What kind of characters appeared? What kind of ambitions and desires have been accumulated? This is a story-telling book and a concise and easy-to-understand chronological history. It reproduces the nearly 40 years of Japanese history from the end of the Tokugawa period to the Russo-Japanese War: from isolation to civilization and openness, from poverty and weakness to prosperity... This was Japan's most turbulent era. Each vivid protagonist leads Japan to gradually find the spiritual code for its rise. At the same time, these seemingly great figures also show a fragile and greedy side in the grand historical background. Their struggles and ideals have always faced self-torture... Glory and dreams are intertwined, and survival and destruction are staged. A seemingly powerful country also rises with difficulty amid many contradictions. It was during this period that Japanese chaebol officially entered the stage of history. But it was also during this period that the Japanese spirit began to diverge. It shocked the world with its struggle, conspiracy, and killings, and shifted from a passionate path of national rejuvenation to aggressive expansion. The author uses the novel's writing style and modern humor elements to outline the ups and downs of Japan at that time. Amidst laughter and scolding, "The History of Spicy Japan" attempts to unlock the code of Japan and show the country.

If Japan's rise was based on the educational policy that encouraged independent thinking before and after the Meiji Restoration, then China cannot do it today.
Japanese culture was born out of Chinese culture, and Japanese civilization was derived from Chinese civilization. In modern times, the relationship between teachers and students has been reversed.
The story of Meiji is full of spicy and delicious food.
The whole story is compact and full of historical materials, especially the wonderful introductions and comments on important figures during the Meiji Restoration. It is a vivid explanation and interpretation of Japan's transformation from poverty and weakness to a powerful country in Asia. It is also an ardent hope for China's rise and prosperity today. I hope the Chinese people can get enlightenment from it👿
Your photo of Ye Zhichao must be wrong. It is clearly Li Hongzhang. I hope you can check it.
Why does that photo of Ye Zhichao look so much like Li Hongzhang?
After reading the free part, I want to ask if it is worth buying.
The book is good
It's interesting to write
Do the task!
Another perspective
Nice to give it a thumbs up
