About This Novel
There is a small town called Rani in the west of Niigata Prefecture. It is close to the sea, but it cannot directly see the sea because of the dense forest surrounding it. Huan is a relatively backward area. There are only a few vending machines in the town, and you still can't choose hot or cold ones. There is a bridge in Huan Town. Under the bridge is a cracked river. There used to be a river flowing to the ocean. But the strange thing is that this dry scene only occurs under the bridge and within a limited area around it. Green farmland has been planted a little further away, which makes the entire bridge look even more desolate. This bridge and the river below are of great significance to the people living in Huan. It divides Huan into two parts, named Shanghuan and Xiahuan according to the height of the terrain.
