About This Novel
"Er Yan's Ci" contains dozens of poems written by Yan Shu and Yan Jidao's father and son in the Northern Song Dynasty. It was selected and compiled by Xia Jingguan, a scholar of the Republic of China, and edited by Mr. Yang Huaiyuan of Southwest University. This book aims to help today's high school students and junior college students improve their reading and appreciation of Song poetry. By interpreting Er Yan's poetry, it will deepen their knowledge and understanding of the creative style of the graceful poets of the Northern Song Dynasty, thereby cultivating their linguistic literacy and aesthetic sentiment in the appreciation of Song poetry. The first half of the book is about Yan Shu's poems. Yan Shu was good at poetry and lyrics, his articles were elegant, and he was good at calligraphy. His lyrics were outstanding, and he was known as the "prime minister's poet". His poetry absorbed the elegant and flowing style of poetry of the "Huajian School" of the Southern Tang Dynasty and Feng Yansi, and created the graceful style of poetry of the Northern Song Dynasty. He is known as the "first ancestor of the Yisheng family of the Northern Song Dynasty".
