If Life Deceives Me
by Zuo Zhenbiao
About This Novel
I spent the whole afternoon sipping an expensive but really inferior green tea in a daze. This afternoon, my brain was quite confused, and I was always telling the waitress about my experiences in the past few years. I could tell they were avoiding me, but I didn't care. I keep talking, and have been doing so lately. I didn't know what was wrong with me, and I didn't know what I was talking to the waitress about. It was all nonsense. I said I had no words, so I started to ask for beer, and drank one bottle after another until I fell unconscious. I don't know who brought me home. When I woke up, the house smelled of alcohol and fermented food. Under the bed were puddles of my vomit, which seemed to be very mixed. It showed colorful colors under the sunlight and exuded an unpleasant stench.
