About This Novel
Why does everyone want to go back to the past? I must not have the courage to accept the unpredictable feeling of the future. The future is so beautiful! One hundred years ago, World War I was the age of steam, electricity, and gunpowder. Two hundred years ago, the Industrial Revolution had just spread. Everywhere was full of galloping steam locomotives, and steamships were drifting on the sea. Coal and steel had become important resources for mankind. Three hundred years ago, China was in the heyday of Kangxi and Qianlong, and the United States was in the Civil War. Four hundred years ago, there was the Renaissance and the bourgeois revolution. Everyone who lived a hundred years ago could not imagine what the world would be like a hundred years later. Can people during the First World War imagine today's modern cities? At that time, the average life expectancy was 40 to 60 years. There was no medical care and education as popular as today. Most babies would die soon after birth because there was no good medical care. So what if I traveled a hundred years later?
