Comparative Literature Variation Research
by Wang Chao
About This Novel
Since the concept of variation in comparative literature was proposed in 2005, it has received in-depth reviews from famous scholars such as David Dammsch of Harvard University, Haun Sausy of the University of Chicago, and Bernard Franco of the Sorbonne University in France. This book comprehensively reviews the current research status at home and abroad, and is divided into two parts for innovative elaboration: Chapters 1, 2, and 3 analyze the academic background, philosophical foundation, and innovative paths of variology from outside the discipline; Chapters 4, 5, and 6 analyze the theoretical connotation, extension boundaries, and practical methods of variology from within the discipline. The main innovations are: Chapter 5 sorts out the four rules of literary variation, which is an effective response to the "degree" of variation; Section 1 of Chapter 6, "Diffusion variation" is divided into translation variation, communication variation and reception variation; Section 2, "Interpretation variation" is divided into misplaced interpretation variation, counterpoint interpretation variation and shift interpretation variation; Section 3, "Structural variation" is divided into literary structure variation, literary theory structure variation and cultural structure variation. These nine branches constitute the practical discourse system of variationology.
