This book was originally called "History of Rome". It is divided into ten chapters and narrates the development of ancient Rome from the Roman Kingdom (the Age of Kings), the Roman Republic to the Roman Empire in a chronological form. The work not only shows the glorious achievements of the Roman Empire, but also reveals the bloody struggle for power between the conquerors and the conquered. It has both a macro description of the rulers' governance of the country and a micro description of the daily life of the people. It is an interesting and serious history of Rome. The language of the book is concise and the narrative is rigorous. The author consulted a large amount of information and tried to present an objective and true history of Rome.
