About This Novel
"Manuscript of the Political History of the Tang Dynasty" was completed by Chen Yinke in Hong Kong in 1941. The preface was signed "written by Chen Yinke on the New Year's Day of Xinsi at his residence at No. 369, Prince Edward Road, Kowloon". It was copied and revised in Guilin the following year and handed over to the Commercial Press for publication in 1943. This book is Chen Yinke's masterpiece and is very inspiring for the study of Tang history. Hong Kong provided Chen Yinke with a short research space during the turbulent times, allowing him to complete this masterpiece. Although it was accidental, it cannot but be said to be fate.
