About This Novel

In 1471, the bloody storm on the banks of the Sheron River was about to determine the fate of the Russian land... As the Muscovy Principality grew more powerful, Novgorod fell into panic. They began to seek help from foreign allies, seeking to combine the female mayor with the Lithuanian prince to resist Moscow's invasion. At the same time, the Catholic Church in Rome extended an olive branch to Grand Duke Ivan III of Moscow for a marriage, using the opportunity to marry the niece of the last Byzantine emperor as a bargaining chip in an attempt to revive the Holy See that was split between the East and the West. Muscovites also had their own plans: they would raise the banner of the "Third Rome." Facing the invincible Principality of Moscow, can the Novgorod Republic escape the fate of being annexed and take this piece of Russian land to the West?
