About This Novel
"The Rites of Zhou" records: "Jia Li is a gift to all people." As one of the "Five Rites" of my country's ancient etiquette system, Jiali is the most complex etiquette system and concerns ordinary people. This book takes Jiali in the Song Dynasty as the main research object, and its main content can be divided into three parts. The first chapter discusses the formation of the "Five Rites" system in ancient my country, the evolution of the connotation of Jia Li, and the classification of Jia Li items in Song Dynasty literature. Chapters 2 to 6 discuss the enthronement ceremony and court meeting, the title ceremony and the canonization ceremony, the banquet ceremony and the tour ceremony, the crown and the wedding ceremony, the retirement ceremony and the rural drinking ceremony in the Song Dynasty. The last two chapters mainly discuss the relationship between Song Dynasty Jiali and Song Dynasty society. The seventh chapter discusses the changes of the times reflected in the Song Dynasty's imperial examination system, the improvement of common people's social status, and the integration of etiquette and law. Chapter eight discusses the functions of the Song Dynasty's imperial gifts from the perspective of strengthening imperial power and grassroots social control.
