His son, Li Changsheng, was ordered by his mother to go to the residence of Prince Li Sujie (the fourth son of Emperor Gaozong of the Tang Dynasty) in Luozhou (Luoyang) to pay filial piety. He learned that Li Sujie was imprisoned and detained in the capital. Changsheng rushes to the porcelain store in Beijing to inquire about the news, and accidentally encounters the prince who was ordered to die by Empress Wu. Changsheng inexplicably obtains 800 taels of silver left by Prince Li Sujie. Guan Baozhu, a junior sister from the capital who has been a monk for six years, suddenly pays a night visit. On the way back to Xingzhou, he meets the mysterious woman Li Yuanchun.
