Standing on Top of the World: a Record of China's Two Summits of Mount Everest (1955-1975)
by Liu Li
About This Novel
This book takes the Chinese mountaineering team's two summits of Mount Everest in 1960 and 1975 as the main axis, and comprehensively reflects the twenty-year history of the Chinese mountaineering team from its establishment in 1955 to its second summit of Mount Everest in 1975. The two summits of Mount Everest were a feat that shocked the whole country and the world at that time. They not only boosted the morale of the Chinese people and created brilliant mountaineering achievements, but also achieved great scientific research results. Some of these achievements are still affecting the scientific and mountaineering circles around the world to this day. However, there has not yet been a complete and detailed documentary work describing this process, and this book fills this gap.
