About This Novel
The story takes place in a small seaside town on the Liaodong Peninsula during the "Cultural Revolution". The protagonists are four "Haicangzi" in their twenties. Whether it is the hot-tempered, cunning and daring swordfish head, or the handsome, affectionate, tough on the outside but soft on the inside, Mari, the three-legged one who often shows off his cleverness and is a bit trivial in his behavior but also has a soft spot for it, and the ugly, honest and peaceful giant bared teeth, facing the boundless sea, they all show their candid nature, without any pretense or pretentiousness.
