The Cuthbert brothers and sisters at Green Gables Farmhouse decide to adopt a boy to help with farm work in the fields. To everyone's surprise, Mrs. Spencer sent a dreamy, chattering red-haired girl - an elf. This little elf was like a breath of fresh wind blowing into the secluded country farmhouse. The story begins here... Anne is a little girl with a miserable life experience. Her parents died soon after she was born and she became an orphan. A kind neighbor raised her until she was eight years old. Later, she went to another family to help look after children, and was later sent to an orphanage. Anne was adopted by Matthew and Marilla of Green Gables when she was eleven. Anne has a lively and optimistic nature and a rich imagination. Although her innocence and fantasy caused a lot of jokes, her kindness and straightforwardness also won her friendship and sincere love.
