About This Novel

The Mansfield family has been harassed by the "Lord of Chaos" for centuries. The "Lord of Chaos" is an ancient Christmas custom, a king of mischief elected by young people who wears strange costumes, masks and bells all over his body. But one year, the 'King of Chaos' named 'Peter York' accidentally drowned in the cold lake. His ghost exacts revenge: Over the next several Christmases, members of the Mansfield family often die mysteriously. Centuries later, the Mansfield family had all but forgotten this nightmare. But the "Lord of Chaos" returns, and two villagers and Charles Mansfield's adopted son all die under mysterious circumstances. The most surprising thing is: there are no footprints on the snow, and the murderer seems to be a ghost who never touches the ground. It's Christmas again, and tragedy seems to be happening again. A woman close to the Mansfield family turns to Owen Burns for help. Can the aesthetic detective quell the "Lord of Chaos"?
