About This Novel
This book is the representative work of writer John Muir. The content mainly involves Muir's diary of a four-month investigation in the Sierra Nevada Mountains in the summer of 1969. During the four-month trip, in addition to participating in sheep herding, he also inspected mountains, ores, glaciers, climate, plants, animals, etc. In 1906, Muir single-handedly promoted the establishment of U. S. National Nature Reserves. Roosevelt was also influenced by him and approved the creation of 53 wildlife reserves, 16 national monuments, and six national parks during his term. This book was Muir's original intention. It is also known as "the text that moved a country" for its beautiful and delicate writing style. It opened a new way of creating nature literature in the 20th century.
