Red Fly at Night
by Wang Xiaobo
About This Novel
Li Yinhe exclusively authorized it and personally edited the entire manuscript. Wang Xiaobo's classic masterpiece, commemorative edition for the 20th anniversary of his death! The "Interesting Book" of the Doubt Trilogy - "If there were no interesting things in this world, I would rather not live." The "Interesting Book" in Wang Xiaobo's "Running at Night". "Hong Fu Runs at Night" is based on the love affair between the late Sui Dynasty general Li Jing and Yang Su's prostitute Hong Fu, viewing history from a modern perspective and showing the embarrassing situation of intellectuals in an anti-intellectual society. In the complicated intertwining of history and reality, illusion and reality, the novel seems absurd, but it embodies the irony of reality and the yearning for freedom and fun. As Wang Xiaobo said in the preface: "I write about the heart rather than the appearance, and the spiritual similarity rather than the physical similarity."

A very interesting book. Mr. Wang Xiaobo explains philosophy in popular and interesting language. This book also has a very special meaning to me. I highly recommend it.
Wang Xiaobo doubted the interesting book in the trilogy of "Hong Fu Night Run". Wang Xiaobo said: Mortals like interesting things. This is the unshakable creed of my life. If there are no interesting things in this world, I would rather not live. This is what I talk about running red and flying all night.
Rich imagination, free shuttle between ancient times and reality.
Life is impermanent
Happiness comes first, it's good to be alive.
Using seemingly absurd events to restore the reality of our lives.

Red fly at night
So far, nothing has convinced me that I'm right, that life is inherently interesting, was interesting in the past, desires to be interesting, is interesting inside but pretends to be uninteresting. There is nothing that can prove me wrong and lead me to believe that life is boring, that it was boring in the past and that it is boring now, that I don't like interesting things and don't seem to be boring at all. So up to now, I can only endure the despair and live in this world.
Weird talk
