About This Novel
There is a small town on the bank of the Yellow River, which is a county seat. There is a group of veterans who have returned from the Yunnan Artillery Corps in the county town. The veterans all left the small town at first, and later returned to the small town one after another. However, the process of leaving the small town and returning to the small town for more than twenty years turned these veterans from rustic farm boys into upright men. As a result, they became a sight in this little-known northern town. The Spring Festival has just passed and the weather is still cold. In the early morning, the sky was bright, and the snowflakes fell swayingly with the breeze to the ground that still smelled of firecracker smoke.
